PART 7 From Writing With Love

Hi everyone, Part 7 is here today – it’s a very short postscript and my recommendations for books on writing.

Further to yesterday’s post and the picture of a cream cake, today my lovely neighbour brought me a vanilla slice! What heaven! I haven’t eaten it yet. I’ve looked at it, nestling in its box, thought about when I might eat it, looked at it again, decided I need to take a photograph of it before I do eat it… In exchange I’ve given her a book – I hope she thinks it’s a good swap.

Below part of last week’s renga diary (that cream cake is definitely going to feature in today’s) and one of my daily collaged 10 min postcards.

Tomorrow news of, and a link to the programme for the StayAtHome online Literary Festival in which I’ll be taking part. So do check in to get the details.

Now for coffee and that cream cake…

Sorrows, who'd have believed them winged
could fall in love so with mortals

(From Lucille Clifton's exquisite poem Sorrows)

Sky lockeddown like the country
persistent silent grey haze
on the horizon a band of light
