The London Magazine

I’m really excited to say my story Hunting the Jaguar, from my Millie and Bird collection is appearing in The London Magazine’s Oct/Nov issue. I feel honoured to published in its pages especially when I look at the roll call of contributors over time, over several centuries in fact; it being ‘England’s oldest literary periodical, with a history stretching back to 1732.‘   I also very much like and admire it’s editor, poet, Steve O’Brien, who I met at a poetry event on the Southbank last year

TLM-Cover-JunJul-2013-171x243Equally exciting and slightly scary, I’ve also been invited by the Magazine to be a guest judge for their short story competition this year, along with novelist Stephen May, details of which you can find HERE. This will put me on the other side of the fence. So what makes a stand out short story? I’ll be thinking about it over the next week or so, then posting about it here. I don’t like to delay but it’s a serious business. In the meantime if you want to take  a look at The London Magazine, always a good idea if you are thinking of entering their competition, you can suscribe here.

I’m approaching 30,000 words on the new novel! Alternating between garden, exercise bike and computer and it’s working well.

This week my newsletter (you can sign up for it on the right)  has thoughts on transcribing from notebook to the computer…which I’m very involved in at present.
